Elite Greenhouses Limited was developed from an idea by founder Joseph Simpson, an expert craftsman of commercial greenhouses, and current Managing Director, R.W. Hannant.
Elite Greenhouses began trading in 1974. The company was launched on the back of the success found in the commercial greenhouse markets where both founders were key players in the successful growth of Elite’s sister company, Unique Dutch Light.
The expertise gained from the commercial side was brought in and, from its humble beginnings, with just one style and size of greenhouses available, the cornerstone of the company was formed.
Elite Greenhouses was, and still is, built upon the foundations of quality products, great service and tremendous value for money. Elite has used and developed these ideas to become one of the oldest manufacturers of greenhouses in the UK and even today, continues its special relationship with Unique Dutch Light, which boasts a portfolio of customers and greenhouse experience dating back to its formation in 1948.
Models in the Elite greenhouse range include the Compact, Streamline, Craftsman, Craftsman High Eave, Belmont, Supreme, Classique and the new R-Type in the free standing models.
The Lean-To models include the Kensington 4, Kensington 6, Kensington 8, Windsor and the R-Type Lean-To which is a low ridge model and the 2'3" wide Easygrow

The company as it stands today has expanded and possesses a large and enthusiast workforce who strive to provide a wide range of products built on Mr Simpson’s ethics. Only the finest components are used across the vast product range and include stainless steel clips, non perishable glazing gaskets, commercial grade aluminium and a 10-year guarantee, as standard, many of which are usually optionally extras from other manufacturers.
