| These are large hardy well established Plug Plants.
You will receive the 6 named varieties shown above unless we sell out, then we reserve the right to substitute for a comparable variety. They have been grown in 3cm sq. cells, the same as used to supply our wholesale customers.
These plants will benefit from being potted into 9cm pots and grown on until the roots have reached the out-sides of the pot, which during the growing season will not take very long, and then planted out into your garden, this is how our professional wholesale customers grow them. All too often you see plug plants recommended as being suitable for planting straight into the soil, if you do, then you must be prepared to loose some and they will need very careful attention to watering etc. The professional way is to pot them up into a good compost and grow them on, you will give them the best chance and have some excellent plants to plant out in know time at all. The secret is to plant them out as soon as the roots have reached the outside of the pot and you can handle them without the compost falling away. These plants do not have any degradable pots covering the roots, as it is our experience that some types can retard root development if allowed to become dry and harden, this can also happen in the ground if there is insufficient water in the soil, as the pot needs ideal conditions to decay, if these conditions are not possible then they prevent robust root development and subsequently restrict the plants development. All our plants are sold carriage paid, no extra costs. Our policy is to recycled all the packaging we use wherever possible. |
