These are large hardy well established Plug Plants.

You will receive the 6 named varieties shown above unless we sell out, then we reserve the right to substitute for a comparable variety.

They have been grown in 3cm sq. cells, the same as used to supply our wholesale customers.

These plants will benefit from being potted into 9cm pots and grown on until the roots have reached the out-sides of the pot, which during the growing season will not take very long, and then planted out into your garden, this is how our professional wholesale customers grow them.
All too often you see plug plants recommended as being suitable for planting straight into the soil, if you do, then you must be prepared to loose some and they will need very careful attention to watering etc.
The professional way is to pot them up into a good compost and grow them on, you will give them the best chance and have some excellent plants to plant out in know time at all.

The secret is to plant them out as soon as the roots have reached the outside of the pot and you can handle them without the compost falling away.

These plants do not have any degradable pots covering the roots, as it is our experience that some types can retard root development if allowed to become dry and harden, this can also happen in the ground if there is insufficient water in the soil, as the pot needs ideal conditions to decay, if these conditions are not possible then they prevent robust root development and subsequently restrict the plants development.

All our plants are sold carriage paid, no extra costs.

Our policy is to recycled all the packaging we use wherever possible.

The plants offered above are grown on our own nursery at Wisbech.

The nursery has operated from the same site for over 40 years.

We specialize in young plug and pot grown plants in over 500 varieties.

All our plants are grown using "Compost Tea" biological disease control.

The above sturdy hardy young plant is the size you are buying.

This size of plant will benefit from being potted into a 9cm pot and grown on until the roots have reached the out sides of the pot and then planted out into your garden

Why should you buy from us!

With over 40 years experience in the young plant industry in both retail and wholesale, specializing mainly in hardy plants like Perennials, Alpines, Herbs, Conifers, Shrubs and Grasses you can purchase your garden plants with confidence, in the knowledge you are buying from a genuine nursery and not just from an amateur or someone growing a few plants for pocket money.

All the hardy plants we offer have been grown naturally and have a low carbon footprint, the only heat we use is in the very early stages on some varieties that need frost protection during propagation, after this they are grown in the natural way.

All our seed is sown using a precision seeder which places each seed in the cells automatically, thus ensuring a strong and sturdy young plant.

Containers are filled using a Javo tray filling machine which evenly and lightly fills the growing boxes and pots with compost.

The compost we use is specially blended for growing young plants

A typical collection of plants awaiting packaging and dispatch in our special postage containers, assuring you will get your plants in nursery fresh condition.
Stock plants growing on benches in our stock tunnels allowing the plants plenty of air and room to develop, also enabling workers to take the cuttings without having to bend.
Plants that need more room for root development are grown in beds in a greenhouse with no glass in the sides, only netting to enabling full air movement and allowing the plants to develop in a natural environment.

This photo shows cuttings being prepared and insertion into their rooting container which will take anything from 2/6 weeks depending on the variety.

These cuttings are taken from selected stock plants grown on our second nursery which only produces cuttings from mother stocks.

This is a propagation box full of well rooted and sturdy Lavender plants ready for packaging into our special mail order containers.
All our plant are despatched within 2 weeks of order by post, using the Post Office next day delivery service using our special mail order packaging which keeps the plants in first class condition..
